Niall McDevitt Poetographer
Niall McDevitt is the author of two critically-acclaimed collections of poetry, b/w (Waterloo Press, 2010) and Porterloo (International Times, 2013).
His idea of poetry is one of urban shamanism and this includes street-level studies of the poetic history of London and beyond. He has given many walks and talks on such figures as Shakespeare/Blake/Rimbaud/ Yeats. He blogs at poetopography.wordpress.com
An influential participant in the London and UK psychogeographical movement he has collaborated with Iain Sinclair, Robert Montgomery, John Crow, Aidan Andrew Dun, Tina Richardson, Mythogeography, Max Reeves and more. Some of his work features in the anthology Urban Shamanism: A London Poetopographical.
His third book Firing Slits: Jerusalem Colportage is published by New River Press, a collection of prose, poems, lyrics, epigrams and journals documenting his walks in Jerusalem/Al Quds in late 2014.
