Tymon Dogg

'A truly outstanding and utterly original musician – a one-off national treasure!' fRoots Magazine December 2015 ‘Uber talented’ Daily Mirror November 2015 ‘At the Koko [Camden] gig, Tymon Dogg reaffirmed his reputation as the king of gypsy punk’ (Teamrock April 2015) ‘Tymon’s a fuckin’ genius’ John Cooper-Clarke More reviews here. Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tymon Dogg defies classification with his thought-provoking, idiosyncratic lyrics and music. Perhaps best known for his dynamic violin playing, he was a member of Joe Strummer’s Mescaleros and contributed to The Clash albums ‘Sandinista’ and ‘Combat Rock’. In the course of a 40-year career he’s played with a wide range of musicians including The Slits, Paul McCartney, legendary flamenco singer Enrique Morente, The Moody Blues, Jimmy Paige, Ian Hunter, John Cooper-Clarke, Shane McGowan, The Pogues, The Blockheads and The Raincoats.

As a live performer, Tymon is energetic, compelling, and sometimes downright alarming : ‘instantly mesmerising’ (Independent); ‘When he plays the violin he creates a storm of passion in his listeners’ (Blogcritics).
